Kaitlyn Deann, a passionate writer
since childhood, penned four novels from ages 11 to 16, and considers them crucial to her journey as a writer. THE WITCHES’ SLEEP, her debut which was published when she was 17, won the 2013 Readers’ Favorite Annual Book Contest gold medal in the Fiction – Paranormal genre. Her series, previously The Chronicles of Forgotten Countrymen, is now rebranded as THE FORGOTTEN COUNTRYMEN, with the latest book, UNRAVEL, available. It’s a dystopian fantasy involving secret love, societal oppression, and shocking truths.
In 2015, Kaitlyn went to nursing school.
There she met a man named Chris who bought her a Reese's one day after overhearing her say that was her favorite candy. They started having lunch together and emailing each other over non-school things before he finally asked to just call her on the phone. So, she gave him her number.
They started dating soon after that. After three years, Chris told Kaitlyn he'd like to marry her and she said "a'ight".
Just kidding! She happily said yes and started planning a small, intimate wedding.
Chris wanted to be the one that picked the date, so Kaitlyn agreed. But, after 7 months, he still hadn't picked a date! So, naturally, Kaitlyn said if he didn't pick a date, she would be forced to pick it herself.
That evening, on the 12th of December 2018, he gave her a date. It was very meaningful to him as it was the anniversary of his late grandparents:
December 30th. 18 days away.
So, 18 days later, they got married, because she wasn't going to wait a whole year. (LOL.) It was a good thing, she had thought, that she'd planned their wedding to be simple and intimate.
They have gone on to have 4 children whom they homeschool.
As a writer, Kaitlyn hopes
to keep readers turning pages late into the night and give them something to think about long after they finish the last page. She loves her friends, family, and God. Laughing is her favorite calorie burner. She lives in Texas with the people that matter most to her in the entire universe.
