The Witches’ Sleep Audiobook Release! FINALLY!

Check it out on Audible:

I am so very excited to share this with you guys! I kind of feel like this is my way of making up for not being able to give anything while in Nursing School this year. The next installment in this trilogy hasn’t even been written yet, not even a little!

It makes me cry too. It really, really does. But, as I explain in the YouTube video I uploaded today, I need a stable job. And right now, writing isn’t stable.

I need money to be able to get my book into my hands, but I need a job to get the money, but I need education to get the job. Thankfully, I’m only a month from graduation!

I hope you guys enjoy the Audiobook! Be sure to share this with your I-prefer-listening-to-books-rather-than-reading-them friends/family, and let Melissa and I know how you liked it by leaving a review!

Love y’all,

had no where to put this in the post, but i wanted it in my post…. so it’s in my post.

Playlists for Books?

Are you one of those people that like to listen to music when you read? It’s always SO much better when the song totally goes along with the book. The feelings that envelope you when this happens… It’s unexplainable. Definitely awesome.

With that being said, I have put together a couple of playlists for you guys to listen to while reading The Witches’ Sleep and World of the Beasts! Or, just to listen to! It’s only a few songs, but I love these songs for the books.

You can find the playlists on my website under The Witches’ Sleep Trilogy tab. Click here to be taken straight to the page.

Have fun, and I hope you enjoy! Also, if you know any songs that remind you of my books, let me know what they are! I’m in need of some good music to listen to while working on Book Three. The weirder the song the better!

Trip to Miami

Hey everyone! I’ve been back from Miami for a few days now, but thanks to Thanksgiving and having my wisdom teeth removed, I haven’t taken the time to just sit down and write–anything.

But, here I am now, happy to be back and telling you about my awesome experience in Miami!

My first impression of Miami was noise. Some of you who may be used to shouting and honking probably wouldn’t have noticed, but for someone like me… Well, I’m not used to noisy places.

But, then I met all the wonderful, nice people at Readers’ Favorite’s Meet and Greets. Some of them I got to know pretty well! Below are pictures from the trip. Some are of me with some other awesome people, and some aren’t.

Miami Awards

This is the lovely Debra Gaynor! Readers’ Favorite is actually her baby! She started it several years ago, reading all the books herself. When her baby grew to be so big that thousands of books were being entered, she had to bring in others, because it’s just simply too much to read thousands of books a year–impossible, really. I loved getting to chat with Debra! (And I was guiltily pleased to see she was a few inches shorter than my 5 foot self!)

Readers’ Favorite’s President James Ventrillo.

This beautiful woman is Sheri Fink, #1 best-selling children’s book author & international speaker!

Meet Marcie May, author of The Adventures of Penny and Tubs! She’s one of the sweetest ladies you’ll ever meet!

This is Bonnie Sinor! She’s a Christian author, and she was so sweet to me! She couldn’t stop talking about her beautiful granddaughter!

Ronald L. Herron, author of Tinker and Zebulon!

Sophie Dawson, Christian author!

Now, this guy was inspiring! Frantz Michel, author of CAN GOD SAVE HAITI? He also serves in the US Air Force. ❤

This is the awesome Michael Dadich, author of THE SILVER SPHERE. He’s been extremely encouraging!

Manny Pacheco! He sat down because he felt he was too tall to take a picture with little ole’ 5-foot me. Haha!

Tony Ross, author of Victor and Orion!

Landon Parham, author of FIRST NIGHT OF SUMMER!

C. Kevin Thompson, author of 30 DAYS HATH REVENGE!

Sondra Torres, author of “Signing with a Heavy Hand and Heart, Love Mommy”

And below are some extra pictures:

Overall, I had a marvelous time in Miami, and the advice I have received will not go to waste! Huge thank you to everyone who has supported me through my writing journey and continue to support me!

Confessions: Originally in The Witches’ Sleep

So, here’s the thing… Now, listen up. When I say this, you CANNOT throw large objects at my head in an attempt to harm me.

Originally, in The Witches’ Sleep, first installment in The Witches’ Sleep Trilogy, Kindness in His Heart and Sea-Anna….

didn’t exist.

Hear me out, okay?! When I first was planning the plot of TWS, I first created the main character, Sunny. The second character was Tuck. Of course. And he was charming. And he was hot. And he was everything I needed.

I thought.

About a fourth of the way through the first draft I realized Sunny needed something that tied her to her human life. At first Daedrian was going to be her brother, but with the encouragement on my father (thank you, Daddy; love ya) I wrote him in as the boyfriend that she could never have again. Problem was, after I made his character and got to know him through Sunny, I fell for him too!

For real, I was like, “WHAT DO I DO NOW?! HE’S STUCK ON EARTH!”

And then, Kindness in His Heart was born so Daedrian and Ella could be together again. Sadly, this left Tuck all alone. And I was like, “Uh-uh, I can’t do that to my baby.” Then, my dearest Sea-Anna was created.

The story would’ve taken a completely different route if I didn’t have that little voice in my head telling me to create Daedrian and then Sea-Anna. I’m extremely pleased with how the story ended up compared to the first draft. It was a difficult planning process; I had to let go of a lot of ideas. But it was necessary, and it gave me more beautiful ideas.

That is all for today’s confessions! Tell me what you think in the comments! Did I make a good decision, in your opinion, by creating Kindness and Sea-Anna?

Have a great week, everyone!
